Dear Colleagues,
Happy Tuesday!
It's time again for
Todd's Tuesday Tech Tips. This week I have a tip that, honestly, I
thought was too much. However, after thoroughly reading and trying the
services of Remind 101, I think it has excellent possibilities.
What is it? It is a safe and secure way to get a message to all of your classroom parents via text.
How does it work? Your parents receive a code that they text to Remind 101 and that puts their cell phone number on your master 'list.' It does not have to be a Smart Phone. Any old phone will do.
Here is a video that explains the service.
Why would you want to use it?
You might not. However, imagine being able to send everyone in your
class a text message that says: "Urgent: our field trip has been
delayed. Please come to school at the regular time!" or "Please don't
forget that tomorrow is our special lunch field trip, bring a sack
lunch!"
How much does it cost? It's free!
Who is it for? It's for anyone who would like a safe and secure way to communicate with parents.
Should I try it? I would!
